Finding a partner
How to find a wine importer or distributor in Macao, China
Asiavino introduces your brand; it does not choose an importer for you and cannot promise you one. Importers and distributors in this market discover your wines and ask you for more, and the decision to work together stays between you and them.
Present your brand in full
Importers judge a brand by its range. Add your brand story and every wine with a bottle photograph and a technical sheet, and keep your commercial information ready for the first reply: export prices, available volumes and the markets you already serve.
Be visible before you have a distributor
With Trade Connect, your brand page and your wines are shown in this market, as in every Asiavino market, even though no distributor carries them yet. Buyers cannot send order requests for them there: the pages invite professionals to contact you instead.
Let professionals ask for more
With Trade Connect, importers, distributors, wine shops, restaurants and hotels can send you a trade enquiry from your wine pages and from articles about your brand: a price list, samples, a tasting or distribution rights. Once the sender has confirmed their email address, Asiavino passes the enquiry on to you and you reply directly.
Add the partner you choose
When an importer or distributor agrees to carry your wines here, add it in your Merchant Studio and it receives an invitation at once. Once it accepts and sets up your wines, buyers in this market can send it order requests.

Before you start
What to know before exporting wine to Macao, China
A customs declaration for each shipment
Macao, China is a free port and a separate customs territory. Goods on the import table of the External Trade Law need an import licence, and that table names alcoholic beverages only at 30% alcohol by volume or more. Other goods clear customs with an import declaration and the required documents on the day they are collected, filed by the importer or its agent.

No customs duty, and no consumption tax below 30%
No duties are levied on goods imported into Macao, China. Consumption tax applies to tobacco and to alcoholic beverages of 30% alcohol by volume or more, except rice wine, at 10% of the import value plus MOP 20.00 per litre, so it does not reach wines below that strength. Your importer confirms the treatment of each wine.

The alcohol content on the largest surface
Every individually packaged alcoholic beverage sold or supplied in Macao, China must show its alcohol content, as a percentage by volume, clearly and prominently on its largest surface. The general food labelling decree does not apply to beverages of more than 5% alcohol, so your importer confirms anything else the label should carry.

A health warning in advertising
Advertising for drinks of more than 1.2% alcohol by volume must carry two warnings in Chinese, Portuguese and English: that excessive drinking is harmful to health, and that the sale or supply of alcoholic beverages to anyone under 18 is prohibited.

General information, not legal advice: your importer handles the formalities.
